Our Practice

In 1952, William Arendshorst, MD, began his practice of ophthalmology in Holland.  A pioneering spirit, he brought modern cataract surgery, intraocular lens implants, corneal transplantation, retinal detachment repair, and oculoplastic surgery to West Michigan.  This same spirit continues today; Eric Snyder, MD, Benjamin Currie, MD and Matthew Currie, MD have introduced state-of-the-art cataract surgery and Laser Guided Cataract Surgery (LCS), posterior chamber lens implants, argon and YAG laser surgery, Visian vision correction, and other medical surgical and diagnostic innovations to Holland.  Tara Oosterbaan , OD ,  Rosanne Pruis, OD and Kelly James, OD, joined the team providing medical optometric care in addition to working closely with Dr. Eric Snyder, Dr. Benjamin Currie and Dr. Matthew Currie. The Holland Eye Surgery and Laser Center is founded on astute clinical judgement and comprehensive, up to date medical knowledge.  Dr. Eric Snyder, Dr. Benjamin Currie and Dr. Matthew Currie are licensed medical doctors and are university trained, board certified ophthalmologists.  We strongly believe that it is our responsibility, in caring for our patients, to maintain the highest standards of medical and surgical excellence.
